Skills Agenda
Due to Africa’s growing population and the corresponding increase in the population of employable youths, unemployment has steadily been on the rise over the years, reaching a record high of 71 million unemployed youths (International Labor Organization, 2017).
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. -Maimonides
Technical Vocational education and training (TVET) is one of the three main priorities outlined by UNESCO as a tool in tackling youth unemployment in Africa. This training empowers them to become gainfully employed in high-demand trades.
Objectives of the Programme
● To provide vocational training to the youth so that they can function better as productive youths and also give new skills to rural youth for preventing migration to the cities.
● To promote self-entrepreneurship amongst the youth by equipping them with the skills on management, designing and planning micro-enterprises in conformity with local skills.
● To channelize youth energies for effective participation in national development.
The aim of our youth resilience and empowerment program is to equip young individuals with essential life skills, education, and mentorship fostering their personal growth, resilience, and the ability to positively impact their communities.
